Our last day at home was mostly spent preparing to go back to the hospital – packing clothes, toiletries, toys and books to keep Jeremy busy – getting ready for a trip we don’t want to go on.  We were sad today, knowing it was our last day of normal for a while, but we praise God for the short time at home we did have and we’re thankful that we didn’t have to go back to the hospital due to any emergencies.

We will be admitted back to the hospital tomorrow, after our appointment in clinic, where we will hear the results of the bone marrow aspirate performed last Thursday.  Our minds are flooded with questions, but at the same time we aren’t really able to ask anything until we find out the results tomorrow.

The last 9 days were the best 9 days we’ve had in a long while.  We didn’t do anything too exciting, but being home in itself felt like a vacation.  It was great to see Jeremy be himself, running around without being attached to an IV pole.  It was great to sleep in our own bed, do our own laundry, go grocery shopping, clean, just everyday things.  It was wonderful to see family and friends in person and to be encouraged by everyone’s love and support.  Words can’t express how grateful we are for each of you.

Praise God:

  • for the best 9 days ever
  • for the love and support of family and friends
  • that Jeremy was fever free during our time at home
  • that Jeremy’s lines didn’t clot and we were able to maintain them without much issue
  • that Jeremy regained the feel for his legs very soon after we got home
  • that Jeremy didn’t get any serious injuries while we were at home

Please continue to pray (new/updated items in bold):

  • that God would continue to use this situation for His glory
  • that we would be obedient to God’s plans for this situation
  • that we would continue to cast our worries and fears on the Lord
  • that God would provide full and complete healing and total health for Jeremy
  • that the regenerating bone marrow would produce only good white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets
  • that the bone marrow aspirate results would show no leukemia cells (that Jeremy would be in remission) and that Jeremy’s prognosis would get better and better
  • that the antibiotics for the fevers encountered would not cause any kidney damage
  • that the rash under the dressing on his central line site would heal quickly and we would not need to give him any more Benadryl
  • that God would continue to give Jeremy an extra portion of His strength, so Jeremy would continue being his playful, energetic self.
  • that we would continue to be in good health so we can care for Jeremy during the subsequent blocks of treatment
  • that God would give Jeremy an extra portion of His strength and sustain Jeremy through the next block of treatment
